Denny Bradley

Tucson Police have arrested a man in connection with two homicides on two different dates on West Miracle Mile.

Denny Bradley, 52, was arrested on charges of first-degree murder in yesterday's death of Darrell Flinchum, 59. Next of kin have been notified.

Detectives also believe he is responsible for a Jan. 24 homicide in the 2500 block of West Miracle Mile, according to a news release from Tucson Police. He was charged on suspicion of first-degree murder in that case as well, and was booked into the Pima County Jail.

Flinchum was found with obvious signs of trauma behind Contact One Call Center at 818 W. Miracle Mile, near North Fairview Avenue, Sgt. Kimberly Bay, a Tucson Police Department spokeswoman, said Friday.

Police were called to the business at 2:45 p.m. about a man who was throwing rocks and possibly trying to enter the business. When officers arrived they encountered a man who was acting aggressively, Bay said.

The man, now identified as Bradley, threw rocks at officers and charged them but was Tasered by the officers and detained, Sgt. Chris Widmer, a department spokesman, said Friday.

People at the business told officers that there might be a second person behind the business in a desert area who might be injured. Officers searched and found the body, Bay said. He was later identified as Flinchum.

According to Star archives, the body of a man found Jan. 24 in a drainage culvert near I-10 and West Miracle Mile was identified as Lanny Fuson.

Fuson, 58, was found near the opening of the culvert by a person who called 911 shortly after 3 p.m., Sgt. Pete Dugan, a Tucson Police Department spokesman, said at the time.

The culvert runs underneath Interstate 10, just south of West Miracle Mile. When officers arrived at the scene, they found Fuson had been fatally beaten, police said.

Homicide detectives found evidence at the scene that led detectives to believe Fuson was homeless and living in the area where the slaying took place.
