A man has been arrested, accused of attempting to sexually assault a woman while he wore a clown mask, police said. He also faces voyeurism charges Β in separate cases.

Corey Morris, 46, is facing one count each of attempted sexual assault, aggravated assault, burglary and kidnapping in a Sept. 26 case, said Sgt. Pete Dugan, a Tucson Police Department spokesman.

An ongoing investigation linked Morris to other cases, and he is also facing five counts of voyeurism, said Dugan on Friday. He was booked into the Pima County jail on the subsequent findings Oct. 21.

In the September case, police responded to a house in the 1000 block of East Seneca Street to a report of an attempted sexual assault. Police learned that the victim was asleep in her bedroom and when she awoke a man was standing in the doorway, said Dugan.

The man was wearing a clown mask and attempted to sexually assault the victim who began yelling. She alerted her roommate, who was sleeping in another room, and when the roommate arrived, the man ran from the house. He was not found, Dugan said.

Detectives determined that the intruder broke into the house. He dropped his cell phone and clown mask in the victim's bedroom when he attempted to run from the house, said Dugan.

Evidence at the scene led detectives to Morris who was taken into custody Sept. 28 outside his apartment complex. He was booked into the Pima County jail, but he posted bond and was released from jail Oct. 4, Dugan said.

As the investigation continued, detectives found multiple photographs of women in various stages of undress on Morris' cell phone, said Dugan. The photos appeared to have been taken through windows at different residences.

While detectives canvassed neighborhoods and spoke to residents near where the attempted sexual assault occurred on East Seneca Street, they found a woman who recognized her property and the inside of her residence in one of the photos, Dugan said. The woman was also in the photo, and told detectives she did not know she was being photographed, and did not give permission to anyone to take her photo, he said.

Detectives found at least four other victims from different residences in the cell phone, Dugan said. He said the evidence led to Morris' second arrest.
