Tucson Police have arrested 30-year-old Albert Cota in connection with the robbery and attempted abduction of a Tucson man last night, authorities said.

Just before 9 p.m., officers received a report that a 67-year-old man was taken from his home in the 100 block of East President Street by an unknown suspect. The caller thought they were possibly traveling in the victim's vehicle.

Minutes later, officers located the car nearby and found Cota and the victim, who was unharmed, police said in a news release.

Detectives learned that the Cota didn't know the man, but lived nearby. Police said that he demanded money from the man, who complied, but then demanded they go somewhere else to get more money.

Officers stopped the car en route and took Cota into custody. He was booked into jail on suspicion of robbery, kidnapping and burglary.

Anyone with any additional information is asked to call 88-CRIME.
