Tucson police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead at a north-side house Tuesday night.

The victim was 20-year-old Zachary Corbut, police said Wednesday.

Detectives are asking anyone with information to call 911 or 88-CRIME.

Shortly after 6 p.m., a resident of the house in the 1400 block of East Grant Road, reported the shooting, said Sgt. Pete Dugan, a Tucson Police Department spokesman.

When police arrived, they found Corbut with gunshot wounds. Paramedics of the Tucson Fire Department assisted at the scene and he was pronounced dead, Dugan said.

In a preliminary investigation, homicide detectives learned that several people were inside the house at the time of the shooting. Several suspects entered the rear of the house and assaulted one man, and shot Corbut. He said the assailants then left the house.

It appears the people who entered the house knew the victims, said Dugan. He said investigators do not believe that the incident was a "random act of violence."
