Tucson police have released the mugshots of a couple at the center of a long-running prostitution scandal.

Clarissa Lopez and Ulises Ruiz, the alleged operators of the "By Spanish" prostitution ring, were charged with fourteen felonies in February, ranging from money laundering to maintaining a house of prostitution, court records show.

Each is facing significant prison time if convicted.

The Pima County Attorney's Office filed charges against the couple nearly a year after more than 10 homes believe to be affiliated with the business were raided by Tucson police.

In the wake of the years-long investigation, multiple TPD employees lost their jobs due to their involvement as customers or knowledge of the illegal business.

Lopez and Ruiz were fingerprinted and booked into the Pima County jail last week, and immediately released without bond.

The pair have a court appearance scheduled for early April.
