Sheriff's deputies arrested a man Wednesday who was wanted in connection with hundreds of east side vehicle break-ins during the past two months, authorities said.
Following a six-week investigation into vehicle break-ins and thefts that occurred in Rancho Del Lago, Vail and Rita Ranch, deputies arrested 21-year-old Charles Boyce, said Pima County Sheriff's Department spokesman, Deputy Tracy Suitt.
During the investigation, deputies learned that he might be in the vicinity of Wilmot and Golf Links, as he was homeless. When they checked the Safeway located in the area, deputies found Boyce sitting out front and detained him, Suitt said.
Boyce was booked into Pima County jail on charges of third-degree burglary, trafficking of stolen property and making a false reporting to law enforcement.
He also had an outstanding felony warrant for burglary and two misdemeanor warrants that were served at the time.
More charges could be pending as the investigation is ongoing, Suitt said.
