Tucson police are asking the public for help in identifying a man who may be connected to three armed robberies of Quik Mart convenience stores.

The robberies happened in January, and a clerk was shot in one of the crimes, said Sgt. Kimberly Bay, a Tucson Police Department spokeswoman, on Thursday.

According to Bay:

  • On Jan. 26 at 2:37 a.m., officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at Quik Mart, 5860 E. 22nd St. Officers learned that a man armed with a handgun entered the store and demanded money from the clerk. He was given an undisclosed amount of money and the man walked away. He was about 5 feet 5 inches tall. He was wearing a white with black "skull" mask, a black hooded sweatshirt with a red and white design, blue jeans and white shoes.
  • On Jan. 26 at 2:51 a.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting at Quik Mart, 1204 N. Alvernon Way. Officers learned that the assailant matched the same description of the armed robber at the Quik Mart on East 22nd Street. The man also demanded money from the clerk, and then fired the handgun, striking the clerk. The man also walked away. Tucson Fire Department paramedics treated the clerk and the clerk was taken to Banner-University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
  • Investigators also believe the same man may be linked to a Jan. 22 armed robbery at Quik Mart at 7667 E. Escalante Road. It occurred at 1:15 a.m. The assailant had a similar description as the man in the other two robberies. He also walked into the store with a handgun and demanded money from the clerk. He then walked away.

Detectives ask that anyone with information about these robberies call 837-7835 or 88-CRIME.Β
