One thousand students from across the state took part in the annual Arizona STEM Adventure at Pima Community College's Northwest Campus Friday, Nov. 22, 2019.
Students were exposed and able to get hands on STEM experience in various kind of activities including math, geology, robotics, and chemistry. The different classes were taught by both volunteer students and professors from the Pima Community College and the University of Arizona and also professionals in the workforce from companies like Raytheon, IBM, and Tucson Electric Power.
STEM Adventure not only gets students interested in STEM programs but also allows the students to be on a college campus for a day interacting with students and professors to open their eyes to education opportunities beyond high school.
The event which is in its fifth consecutive year had its widest breadth of schools which included 31 total from Wilcox, San Simon, San Carlos, Phoenix and the Tucson area among others.
