A man was seriously injured in a rollover in Marana June 17, 2016, authorities said.

A man was seriously injured in a rollover in Marana Friday afternoon. The crash may have been caused by a possible tire blowout, authorities said.

Shortly before 3 p.m., Marana Police Department officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle rollover on West Tangerine Road, about a mile west of Twin Peaks Road, said Sgt. Chris Warren, a department spokesman.

The passenger of the truck was treated by Northwest Fire District paramedics and taken to a hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries, Warren said.

The driver of the vehicle suffered minor injuries and was treated and released at the scene.

Both men were not wearing seatbelts, said Warren.

Traffic detectives said a preliminary investigation shows that the driver lost control of the truck possibly because of a tire blowout, Warren said.

The investigation is continuing.
