Two animals tested positive for rabies in Cochise County, officials say.
A third animal was also tested, but the results are pending.
The first case involved a bat that was found dead on a resident's porch in Pomerene, the Cochise County Sheriff's Office said on Facebook.
The second case involved a gray fox near Pearce. The fox was reportedly found on an elderly couple's porch. The fox displayed aggressive behavior and attempted to get into the couple's house to attack their dogs.
The fox was also aggressive toward officials and was euthanized.
The third animal was a skunk near Saint David. The skunk also showed aggressive behavior and was out during daylight hours, though they are nocturnal.
The skunk eventually attacked a resident's dog. The dog is vaccinated but will be placed in quarantine as a safety measure.
The skunk tested positive for rabies and was euthanized.
