The second body swept away by floodwater in Nogales was found in Rio Rico Thursday afternoon, authorities said.

It was recovered from the Santa Cruz River near Palo Parado Road and Exit 25 on Interstate 19, said Sheriff Tony Estrada.

He said a dozen sheriff's office personnel began their search in the morning as weather cleared and waters receded.Β

The first body, which flowed northbound from Mexico in the Nogales Wash, was recovered Wednesday. The second body was reported miles away that morning, authorities said.

Both bodies were sent to the Pima County Office of the Medical Examiner to determine the causes of death, Estrada said.

No further information has been released.
