With the holidays well upon us and a rainy several days ahead, it might just be the best time of year to cuddle up in front of the TV and watch a movie.

For many families, regardless of the weather, watching holiday movies is something of a tradition. So much so that CableTV.com scanned the country to find out what is each state's favorite holiday film.

To figure it out, CableTV.com took top-ranked holiday movies (chosen by viewers of AMC) and cross-referenced them with Google Trends state data from the past decade.

"Elf" was a popular choice, as was "Home Alone," but Arizona (and a few of its neighboring states) had a less-traditional favorite: "The Nightmare Before Christmas."
