A Sierra Vista school bus driver was arrested last week in connection with sexually abusing a 12-year-old student, police said.
On June 14, the Cochise County Sheriff's Department was told about an incident involving a Sierra Vista Unified School District bus driver inappropriately touching the girl, who was on his bus route, said department spokeswoman, Carol Capas.
Sierra Vista school officials were made aware of the situation at the end of May after the girl told her mother that the driver, identified as David Fabian Falcon, had been inappropriate with her for the past two months, Capas said.
The school district fired Falcon after the sheriff department's investigation revealed that Falcon engaged in inappropriate behavior and touching towards the girl on multiple occasions.
Falcon, 70, was arrested on July 5 and booked into the Cochise County jail on charges of sexual abuse. He remains in jail on a $100,000 bond, Capas said.
