An inmate was found dead early Tuesday in his cell in the Pima County jail's detox observation unit, the Pima County Sheriff's Department says.

Detectives found no suspicious circumstances in the death of Aaron Moore, 36, who was found unresponsive during a safety check at about 1 a.m., the department said in a news release Tuesday night. Moore was pronounced death after Tucson Fire personnel were unable to revive him. 

"An autopsy has been performed and the Office of the Medical Examiner believes the death is related to a medical issue but is waiting for the results of the toxicology report," the release said.

The jail has been dealing with a high number of inmate deaths for the past several months.
