A ground and air search Wednesday for a Canyon Ranch executive who went missing from her Foothills home was called off with no signs of Ann Pardo.

Pardo, 62, the director of life management at the Tucson resort and spa, was reported missing from her home in the area of North Craycroft Road and East Center Village Drive on Tuesday night, said Chief Deputy Chris Nanos of the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.

The search effort was called off about 2 p.m. after searchers reported they were confident Pardo wasn’t in the half-mile radius around her home, said sheriff’s spokesman Deputy Tom Peine.

The Southern Arizona Rescue Association assisted in the search, and Pinal County Search and Rescue brought dogs to the area. Southern Arizona Mounted Search and Rescue, Southwest Rescue Dogs Inc. and sheriff’s department volunteers were also on hand for the search, with about 50 people looking for Pardo in the desert area near her home, Peine said.

With the immediate search over, detectives will continue to follow leads in the case, Peine said.

Pardo was last seen by her husband Tuesday at around 8:30 a.m., before he left for an appointment, according to Deputy Tracy Suitt, a sheriff’s spokesman.

“Her husband didn’t see her leave,” Suitt said. “But he says it’s possible that she might have gone for a walk.”

Pardo left her home without her keys, cell phone or wallet, which is uncharacteristic of her, officials said.

She is described as 5-feet, 2-inches tall, weighing about 180 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She may be wearing athletic clothing.

According to a profile on Canyon Ranch’s website, Pardo has more than 35 years of experience in counseling and management. She gives talks about a variety of topics, including friendship, grief, writing as therapy and women’s spirituality. She is often asked to speak at a variety of conferences around the country, her profile said.

Anyone with information on Pardo can call 911 or 88-CRIME.
