A Pinal County sheriff's detention officer was stabbed today by three inmates in the Pinal County Jail, officials said.
The sheriff's office said that at about 1:45 p.m., a jail lieutenant was attacked and stabbed multiple times inside the jail. The officer was airlifted to a trauma center, where he is listed in stable condition.
The sheriff's office said more details will be released later today.
