Former presidential candidate Bernie Sanders is coming back to Tucson next week to campaign for Democrat David Garcia.Β 

The Vermont senator is expected to draw big crowds on the University of Arizona campus as he campaigns for theΒ Democratic gubernatorial candidate on Tuesday, Oct. 23, marking his fourth visit to Tucson in the last two years.Β 

β€œI am proud to support David Garcia for Governor of Arizona," said Sanders. β€œAs a first-generation college graduate, who went to school on the G.I. Bill, David knows what it means to have access to an affordable education. The Arizona Constitution says college should be β€˜as nearly free as possible’ and David has a plan to make that a reality.”

The get out the vote event featuring Sanders and Garcia will be held at theΒ Richard Jefferson Gymnasium event next week on Tuesday, with the event expected to start at noon.Β

During the 2016 presidential campaign, Sanders held a massive rallies in Reid Park and inside the Tucson Convention Center for his presidential campaign and then later headlined an event at the UA to support Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

After the Tucson event on Tuesday, Sanders will headline a similar event with Garcia at 5 p.m. at Arizona State University.Β
