The Salvation Army in Tucson is expecting to help about 4,000 children with free gifts this year and has a new way of distributing those toys.
Families who want to sign up to receive toys for their children 12 and younger can pick up a Christmas ticket at any of the four Salvation Army locations staring Thursday, Nov. 1. Each ticket will provide application instructions for families to bring to their scheduled appointment with a case manager at the agencyâs Hospitality House.
One ticket will cover the entire family with children 12 and younger. Ticket supplies are limited and can be picked up at these locations during business hours:
- Amphi Corps Community Center, 218 E. Prince Road.
- South Corps Community Center, 1625 S. Third Ave.
- Temple/Korean Corps Community Center, 1001 N. Richey Blvd.
- Hospitality House, 1002 N. Main Ave.
Last year, the agency helped more than 3,500 children receive Christmas gifts. This year, the agency expects to give toys to about 4,000 kids.
The tickets will be given out from Nov. 1-12 or while supplies last.
