A woman at a north-side Circle K had a gun pointed at her after she argued with a man who parked his truck too close to her vehicle, blocking her from getting into the vehicle.
On Oct. 13 shortly before 7 p.m., Pima County Sheriff's deputies responded to the convenience store at 5801 North Oracle Road for a report of an assault with a deadly weapon, said Deputy Cody Gress, a sheriff's spokesman, on Friday, Dec. 1. The Circle K is south of East Rudasill Road.
Deputies learned the two argued in the parking lot because the woman could not get into her vehicle to leave. The man then went into the store and purchased beer.
When he came out of the store, he "flipped off" the woman as he was backing out of the parking space, Gress said.
The woman verbally confronted the man, and he pointed a handgun at her through the window of his truck, and he sped away onto Oracle Road, said Gress.
The man, who was caught on surveillance camera, is described as Hispanic. He is between 35 to 45 years old and has a dark goatee. He is about 5 feet 8 inches tall and is heavy build.
He was last seen wearing a dark New York Yankees hat, a Yankees button-up shirt and plaid shorts. He drove off in a newer model black Toyota Tacoma.
Robbery and assault detectives are asking the public for help in identifying the assailant. Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME, an anonymous tipster hotline.
