City High School, a downtown charter school, is inviting the public to join its freshmen on a walk.

As part of the freshmen’s class project, students are hosting a community event on Thursday, Sept. 29, at 5 p.m. At the event, participants will walk around Armory Park and solve algebra obstacles.

There will also be information promoting health and wellness.

Food trucks, snacks, music and prizes will be at the event, which starts at 221 S. Sixth Ave. The event is free and open to the public.

Dietz neighborhood hosting TUSD forum

The Dietz Neighborhood Association is hosting a public forum for Tucson Unified School District’s school board candidates on Oct. 4 at 6:30 p.m.

Seven candidates are vying for three seats on the board. The forum will be held at Palo Verde High School, 1302 S. Ave Vega.

Nonprofit hosts fundraising run

A local nonprofit is hosting its seventh annual fundraising run on Nov. 5.

Kids Chance of AZ provides college scholarships to students whose parents were killed or permanently injured on the job.

The 5K event is open to competitive runners, casual joggers, walkers, pets and families with strollers. It will be held at Brandi Fenton Memorial Park, 3536 E. River Road.
