A 31-year-old man was struck and killed when he was hit by a pickup truck as he crossed West Valencia Road Saturday night, Tucson police say.
Michael P. Thomas, was crossing against the light at South Midvale Road about 9 p.m. when he was hit by a 1972 Ford F-100 pickup truck that was headed west, police said in a news release Sunday. Smith was in the crosswalk, but crossed against the light, police said.
Thomas died at a hospital.
The driver of the pickup truck stayed at the crash scene. The driver was not identified.
Neither speed nor impairment were factors in the wreck, police say.
The investigation continues.
