One person was killed Sunday afternoon when officials say a pickup truck crossed the median on Interstate-10 in Tucson and slammed head-on into a semi truck.
The wreck happened just after 2 p.m. Sunday near the Craycroft Road exit, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
A Nissan passenger vehicle traveling east on Interstate 10, veered off the pavement and struck a fence separating the interstate from the frontage road, the state DPS said.
After striking a vehicle upon re-entering the eastbound lanes, the Nissan crossed the median into the westbound lanes and collided with a tractor-trailer, the state DPS said.
The unidentified driver of the Nissan was killed in the wreck.
Two other drivers were hospitalized for undisclosed injuries, the state DPS said.
