As a wave of Covid-19 outbreaks sweeps across the country, Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo Tuesday cautioned New Yorkers to remain smart and disciplined in the fight against the pandemic.
"While the numbers show New York State is comparatively in a better place managing the virus than most other states, our progress is threatened by the national surge in new cases and we must remain New York Tough," Cuomo said in a statement updating the state's progress on the coronavirus.
According to updated numbers released by his office Tuesday, Western New York's percentage of positive test results reported from Saturday was 2.6%; Sunday, 2.1%; and Monday, 3%.
Of the 513,689 total individuals who tested positive for the virus, 13,748 were from Erie County, with 164 of them being new positive cases.
Of the 14 deaths Monday across the state from Covid-19, three were in Western New York, including one each in Erie , Chautauqua and Allegany counties .
