Two individuals were arrested in Cochise County on suspicion of drug trafficking, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.
According to the release, Tracy Houlihan, 44, and Joshua Lytle, 28, were booked into the Cochise County jail on charges of possession of a dangerous drug, possession of a dangerous drug for sale, possession of a narcotic drug, possession of a narcotic drug for sale, and possession of a firearm during a drug offense.
Houlihan was also booked on five counts of drug paraphernalia. Lytle was booked on 10 counts of drug paraphernalia.
Houlihan was pulled over by sheriff's detectives for a traffic violation in Benson on Tuesday, the release shows. During the traffic stop, a search of the vehicle was initiated when a drug dog alerted to the smell of narcotics. According to the release, drug paraphernalia was found.
Meanwhile, Lytle was also pulled over for a traffic violation in Benson, the sheriff's office said. Similar to Houlihan, a dog smelled narcotics near Lytle's vehicle, so a search was conducted. Drug paraphernalia, heroin, and methamphetamine were found, the sheriff's office said.
The release also said more evidence of drug paraphernalia and drug trafficking were found in a hotel room where the two were staying.
The sheriff's office said that Lytle, who is on probation, is being held on a $25,000 bond. Houlihan was bonded out on a $5,000 bond.
