Tucson Appliance Co. donated $7,460 to Casa de los Niños following a store promotion in November.
The appliance store donated $10 from every sale during the month to the agency that helps children and families in need.
“Casa de los Niños was selected because the team wanted to provide a Tucson charity that served children in our community with extra funds to help those in need,” said owner Chris Edwards.
Mikaela Ross, development and public relations Coordinator at Casa de los Niños, said the organization has seen a significant increase in the need for services because of the pandemic.
Connie Brannock bikes up "A" mountain with her wife and friends and got tired of complaining about the trash they would see. She decided to form a group, contact Tucson Clean and Beautiful and officially adopted "A" Mountain. Now on the first Monday of each month the Trashy Divas can be seen filling up garbage bags. “The promotion and donation was unexpected and appreciated,” she said. “This pandemic has proven to be difficult for all of us, but Casa de los Niños is being called upon to help struggling families now more than ever.
“With this gift, Tucson Appliance Company is ensuring that kids and families have access to vital resources during these challenging times.”
