Calvin Lee Fox

Pima County Sheriff's detectives arrested a man Thursday, who was wanted in connection with a kidnapping and sexual assault that took place on the south side earlier that day, authorities said.

44-year-old Calvin Lee Fox has been booked into the Pima County jail on one count of sexual assault and one count of kidnapping said Deputy Ira Sewell, a Sheriff's department spokesman.

Shortly after midnight Thursday, deputies arrived at the Food City, located at 2950 South 4th Avenue, in response to reports of a sexual assault, Sewell said.

They were told that a woman was taken against her will by a man with a gun, driven to an unknown location and sexually assaulted, Sewll said.

After the assault, the suspect dropped the victim off at a fast food restaurant, where she called 911 to report the crime.

Sex crimes detectives continued the investigation and identified Fox as a suspect. After locating and interviewing Fox, he was taken into custody and booked into jail, Sewell said.

As of Friday morning, there was no bond set for his release.

The investigation is ongoing.
