Windy weather Feb

A construction worker deals with strong winds on Old Main’s roof on the University of Arizona campus, May 6., 2014. The average daily wind speed for the two months prior was the highest it’s been in seven years, according to the National Weather Service in Tucson.

Friday starts out with gusty winds and cooler temps, as a mostly dry storm comes into the region. There's a slight chance of the occasional shower in the White Mountains, but the valley will be moisture-free.

With the blustery winds and dry conditions comes an increased fire risk and the possibility of blowing winds.

Although the winds are expected to be gone by the end of the day, tomorrow and Sunday will also see cooler daytime highs.
