Customs agents in Nogales found a naked, injured man in a rail car carrying coal on Wednesday, the agency said.

The cargo train was entering the United States at the DeConcini crossing when Mexican customs officials notified officials on this side that there was a person inside one of the train's containers.

Customs and Border Protection officers inspecting the train found the naked man on top of a coal shipment and that he was injured. The officers provided the man with a blanket and removed him from the train. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.

The CBP said the man, who is from Sonora, told officers that he was assaulted three days earlier by two individuals who took his belongings, including his clothes.

He was treated and released from a hospital and is being processed for deportation, the CBP said.
