Noemi Dominguez Acuna

Sierra Vista police arrested a 21-year-old woman Thursday, after police found evidence that she had been selling marijuana, authorities said.

Shortly after 4 p.m. Thursday, officers went to a hotel in the 100 block of Fab Avenue, after management reported a recent increase in suspicious activity on the property, Wachtel said.

Officers brought a K9 on the call, who inspected the outside doors of several hotel rooms before alerting its handlers to the possible presence of drugs inside one of the rooms, Wachtel said.

The room's occupant, Noemi Dominguez Acuna, gave officers consent to search the room, where they found green residue on a tray near the bathroom sink and a "significant amount of green leafy substance" floating in the toilet bowl, along with drug paraphernalia.

Acuna was booked into the Cochise County jail on charges of possession of marijuana for sale and possession of drug paraphernalia, said Corporal Tim Wachtel, a Sierra Vista Police Department spokesman.
