A 63-year-old Douglas man is facing charges of child abuse and child molestation after police received a report that he molested his 5-year-old granddaughter, officials said.
On May 30, Cochise County sheriff's were contacted by the child's parents, who said that one of them came into the kitchen and saw "inappropriate contact" between Ramon Rojas De la Mora and his granddaughter, said Carol Capas, a Cochise County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman.
The parent asked De la Mora to leave the home and called the sheriff's office, Capas said.
On Friday, De la Mora was booked into the Cochise County jail, where he remains without bond, according to Capas.
The investigation is ongoing, Capas said.
