Loop Rawlins shows off his fiery rope spinning skills during judgment week on the NBC show "America's Got Talent." Rawlins has earned a spot in the quarterfinals which will air in early August.

Trick roper Loop Rawlins, a native Tucsonan, survived judgment week on the NBC show "America's Got Talent," earning him a spot in the quarterfinals, set to air in early August.

Rawlins is among 48 contestants who impressed celebrity judges enough to earn a spot in the next round.

In his judgment week performance, which aired Tuesday night, the 28-year-old opened his act spinning guns set ablaze. He ended it spinning a flaming rope, jumping in and out of fiery loops and bringing it dangerously close to his face.

The pressure is on during judgment week, Rawlins said, with half of the acts who made it through the audition rounds being sent home.

"Judgment week is super emotional because... there's like 80 acts and everybody is really good at what they do," he said. "And then you connect with some people, so when you see people get cut that you've connected with it's really sad."

He's already thinking ahead to what his routine will consist of when he performs in the live quarterfinals round which will air in early August.

His act will likely involve fire and his tricks with bull whips, he said

"It will be bigger and more daring" he said.
