STK emergency

Three men were killed early Friday morning in a two-vehicle, head-on collision in Cochise County, officials say.

The crash occurred about 3:15 a.m. on Arizona 92 between Bisbee and Palomino, said Bart Graves, a spokesman for the state Department of Public Safety.

”It was the middle of the night in the middle of nowhere,” Graves said, describing the scene of the crash. He noted that while the cause of the crash remains under investigation, it did appear that the vehicles crashed head-on.

There were two men riding in one vehicle, and a single man traveling in the second vehicle.

One of the men was thrown for a vehicle and pronounced dead on the scene, Graves said.

The highway was shut down until nearly 8 a.m. Friday.

None of the men have been identified.

The crash remains under investigation.
