What: Ben’s Bells promote kindness and community involvement. Each week, a person who makes Tucson better is “belled.”

Last week’s recipient: Pat Hubbard.

Why: As community outreach/education director for the Humane Society of Southern Arizona, Hubbard has worked to combat animal cruelty and to help the community understand the importance of humane treatment of animals. She has assisted on a variety of community projects to help animals, including spay/neuter programs and animal adoption events.

“Pat is my go-to person any time I have an animal welfare question, and I have never known her to be too busy to help,” Brown said in her nomination letter.
