One of the male lions born at Reid Park Zoo in 2013 has died, officials posted on Facebook today.
The notice said the young lion, Bakko, died from "issues related to valley fever and kidney disease."
"Our keeper staff and vet team has worked tirelessly to provide Bakko the best care possible, and they appreciate your kind words and thoughts during this very sad time," the Facebook post read.
Bakko was one of four lion cubs born in December 2013.
