Sheriff's detectives are searching for the occupants of early 2000s Chrysler Concord in connection with the fatal shooting of a 30-year-old man earlier this month on Tucsonโ€™s southeast side, officials say.

Jesus Santos was shot and killed in the early morning hours of April 8.

Deputies received reports of shots fired in the 3200 block of East Alvord Road, and found Santos lying outside his vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds, department spokesman Deputy Ryan Inglett said. The area is in a neighborhood near East Drexel and South Country Club roads.

Medics arrived and first aid was rendered to Santos, who was pronounced dead.

Santosโ€™ car was parked outside the home of a coworker, whom Santos was picking up for work when a confrontation ensued, officials said.

A friend of Santos called 911 to report the shooting. Neighbors said they heard multiple gunshots at about 4:20 a.m.

The sheriff's department said Monday that Santos had regularly stopped to pick up a co-worker at the East Alvord address and was driving a 2002 Kia Spectra four-door sedan at the time of the shooting.

Detectives said early 2000s Chrysler Concord with dark tinted windows was seen driving in the area prior to the shooting. Detectives believe the person driving the Chrysler may be associated with the shooting.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
