Authorities have identified the man killed in an early morning shooting on Tucson's southeast side, officials say.

30-year-old Jesus Santos was pronounced dead at the scene, shortly before 4:30 a.m., said Sheriff Chris Nanos.

Deputies received reports of shots fired in the 3200 block of East Alvord Road, and found Santos laying outside of his vehicle with obvious signs of trauma, Nanos said.

Medics arrived and first aid was rendered to the victim, who was pronounced dead.

His car was parked outside of a coworker's home, whom Santos was picking up work when a confrontation occurred, Nanos said.

His friend called 911 to report the shooting, and neighbors said they heard multiple gunshots at about 4:20 a.m.

Nanos would not confirm if Santos had died from gunshot wounds.

No suspects have been identified yet, and anyone with information is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME.

The area is in a neighborhood near East Drexel and South Country Club roads.
