Tucson police department personnel block off a portion of Grant Road near Columbus after a pedestrian was struck Friday night.

An elderly man suffered serious injuries when hit by a vehicle near East Grant Road and North Columbus Boulevard Friday night, police say.

The vehicle left the scene, leaving the man injured on the road at 6:30 p.m.

Officers are searching for a black Hyundai with front-end damage and a missing driver-side mirror.

Officers shut down westbound Grant at Columbus and southbound Columbus at East Lost Robles Street until 10:20 p.m.Β 

Anyone with additional information is asked to call 88-CRIME, an anonymous tipster line.
