One man was killed and another has been hospitalized in a shooting at a bar on Tucson’s southwest side, officials say.

Deputies went to the Lazy V, a bar in the 2800 block of West Alvaro Road, near South Cardinal Avenue and West Drexel road, at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday after reports of a shooting, Deputy Ryan Inglett, a spokesman for the Pima County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release.

Upon arrival, deputies found two men with gunshot wounds. 43-year-old Victor Vasquez was pronounced deceased at the scene and the second man was taken to Banner University Medical Center with serious injuries, Inglett said.

Homicide detectives responded to the scene and learned that the shooting followed an "incident" between Vasquez and the second shooting victim, Inglett said.

The investigation is ongoing and more details will be released as they become available.

Several people left the bar after the shooting and detectives are asking anyone with information to call 911 or submit an anonymous tip with the potential for reward by calling 88-CRIME or visiting 88.CRIME.org.
