The Pima County Attorney’s Office dismissed charges against a woman in connection with the death of a 6-month-old girl in a child-abuse case.
Charges of second-degree murder and two felony counts of child abuse were dropped against Brianna Raidy, said Isabel Burruel-Smutzer, a spokeswoman for the Pima County Attorney’s Office.
Raidy, described as a friend of the child’s mother, was arrested earlier this year and charged in the death of Wyllow Brewer, who likely died in her sleep on Feb. 19, according to court documents.
Burruel-Smutzer said she could not comment further on the case. She also said the prosecuting attorney was not available for comment on the pending case.
Three other people are facing murder charges in the case, including Wyllow’s mother, Kylie Brewer; Brewer’s live-in boyfriend, Jon-Paul Bogdanowich; and Kaylie Gossett, a friend of Brewer’s, who witnesses said lived in the home and helped care for the infant, according to documents.
Doctors at the hospital where Wyllow was pronounced dead said she had broken bones and multiple signs of chronic and severe child abuse, according to records.
