Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents working at the Interstate 19 checkpoint stopped a smuggling attempt in which three people were found hidden in the trunk of a car.
On April 29, Border Patrol agents at the I-19 checkpoint sent the driver of a Hyundai Sonata to secondary inspection, according to a news release from Customs and Border Protection.
Instead of stopping, the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed. The driver eventually pulled over and agents discovered three individuals inside the vehicleβs trunk, the agency said.
