Habitat for Humanity Tucson’s CHUCK Center: Habitat for Humanity Tucson was honored at the Arizona Housing Forum with one of six Housing Hero Awards. The Arizona Department of Housing recognized the Connie Hillman Urban Construction Knowledge (CHUCK) Center with the Outstanding Affordable Housing Initiative award. This award recognizes the efforts of a local program that creates, improves or promotes affordable housing.Β 

The CHUCK Center, a 15,000-square-foot classroom, indoor construction space and warehouse, is Habitat’s response to accelerate the production of housing. The CHUCK increases the speed and volume of production through off-site prefabrication of innovative modular designs.Β 

The center is also designed to serve as a workforce development program. β€―

Invisible Theatre: Invisible Theatre has been awarded $25,350 from the Arizona Commission on the Arts, an agency of the State of Arizona. The grant was one of 367 grants awarded for Fiscal Year 2022, representing a total investment of $5,425,146 in nonprofit arts organizations across the state.

Invisible Theatre is dedicated to producing quality theater and arts education experiences for all facets of the community in an intimate setting that showcases local professional talent and guest artists. Schools and nonprofit arts organizations were awarded grants based on such factors as community investment, quality of programming, fiscal ingenuity and responsible stewardship of public funds.

Pima Community College: Pima Community College has been named the best university/college employer in the state in Forbes’ annual list of Best Employers To Work For in Arizona. Forbes surveyed companies with a minimum of 500 employees to compile the list.

Pima Community College also ranked as the 11th best employer overall in the state. PCC was the survey’s top-ranked employer for Pima County.

According to Forbes, more than 70,000 employees nationwide were surveyed anonymously and asked to rate their employers on a variety of topics, including diversity, compensation packages, potential for development, company image and more.
