Jersey Mike’s: On March 29, 13 area Jersey Mike’s locations participated in a fundraiser for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tucson as part of a Day of Giving event. For purchases made that day, 100% of sales went to the Boys & Girls Clubs. In addition to the one-day event, for the entire month of March, customers were able to make donations to local charities as part of the Month of Giving.

Hyundai Motor America: Hyundai Motor America donated $50,000 to the Banner Health Foundation to help build a play zone at Diamond Children’s Medical Center in Tucson. The donation is part of Hyundai’s corporate social responsibility initiative, Hyundai Hope, and will assist in creating a dedicated play space for pediatric patients and their families. The play zone will be a non-medical environment where kids can ask questions, build coping mechanisms, reduce anxiety and prepare for treatments in a bright, positive space. Children will also participate in recreation and therapeutic play.

Arizona Women’s Partnership: The Arizona Women’s Partnership, an all-volunteer philanthropic nonprofit, has awarded a total of $33,500 to its 2023 grant recipients. Here are those awarded in Southern Arizona:

Angel Heart Pajama Project — provides pajamas and books to children in foster care who have been abused or neglected.

Arizonans for the Protection of Exploited Children and Adults — shelter for sexually abused girls.

Books for Classrooms — provides books for children of the Tohono O’odham Nation in Southern Arizona.

Esperanza Dance Project — services and therapy for survivors of childhood sexual abuse in Tucson.

Phoenix Legal Action Network — pro bono legal assistance to immigrant families statewide.
