Kohler, known for its kitchen and bath products, has opened the doors to its multi-million dollar Casa Grande manufacturing facility.
The opening of the facility will create 400 new full-time administrative and production jobs.
Sterling brand bath and shower fixtures will be produced in the space, which is approximately 1 million square feet.
In addition to the manufacturing facility, there’s an ancillary warehouse, distribution center, office space and cafeterias. For customers, there’s a showroom.
“As one of the world’s most recognized brands known for its commitment to sustainability and innovation, Kohler strengthens Arizona’s rapidly growing manufacturing industry,” said Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs, who attended the ribbon cutting.
The company will track key sustainability measures to minimize greenhouse gas emissions, water use, solid waste, as well as energy efficiency, according to a news release.
Kohler will incorporate electric boilers, install a 21-megawatt solar array microgrid, utilize long-duration energy storage batteries with 68 megawatt hours of storage, and install 12MW of HVO-capable Kohler industrial backup generators.
“The City of Casa Grande welcomes Kohler Company with open arms and is pleased that the organization has invested in us for the long-term,” said Casa Grande Mayor Craig McFarland.
“Kohler’s sustainable manufacturing facility showcases Arizona’s attractiveness as a premier global destination for advanced manufacturing,” added Sandra Watson, president and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority.
