Spirit of Children: Spirit of Children donated $84,629 to Diamond Childrenβs Medical Center in Tucson on Feb. 13. Proceeds were collected at local Spirit Halloween stores and from business partners during the 2023 Halloween season.
National Auto Body Council: A Tucson woman and her family were gifted a car earlier this month from the National Auto Body Councilβs Recycled Rides program, along with Allstate, Maaco and Meineke Car Care.
Johana Aguilarβs vehicle has been unreliable at a time when two of her four children require special schooling and medical appointments, and her husband has been ill, a news release said. She was nominated by Child and Family Resources for the NABC Recycled Rides program.
Since the inception of the NABC Recycled Rides program in 2007, members of the National Auto Body Council have donated more than 3,300 vehicles valued at some $47 million.

About Care received $3,000 to help the organization expand its services to Tucson.
Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation received $3,000 to provide youth aging out of foster care with education and workforce supplemental support.
A grant of $5,000 was given to Smiles For Veterans to continue preventative and restorative dental services to disadvantaged Arizona veterans.
Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest received $3,000 to create and deliver food boxes to older adults and individuals with disabilities.
More Than a Bed was awarded $5,000 to purchase car seats and diapers for children in foster or kinship care.
Our Family Services got $7,500 to purchase essential items for homeless families and young adults.
Sister Jose Womenβs Center received $3,000 to help fund its emergency overnight shelter program.
The Hope Coalition received a $7,500 grant, which will be used for food assistance for senior citizens and children on the days when they are not in school.
Turn Your Life Around Counseling and Recovery Center was awarded $5,000. The organization focuses on disadvantaged populations, including those suffering from homelessness, poverty, drug and alcohol addiction, incarceration and abusive relationships.
