Change of Command

Air Force members salute during a change-of-command ceremony at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in 2014, when Col. James P. Meger replaced Col. Kevin Blanchard as commander of D-M and the 355th Fighter Wing.

The 355th Fighter Wing will have a new commander next week.

Col. James P. Meger will relinquish his command, and Col. Scott C. Campbell will take Meger’s place at an Aug. 5 ceremony at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base.

Meger was the commander of the fighter wing for two years. He is retiring after 24 years of service.

Campbell was most recently the Afghanistan country director for the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense at the Pentagon in Washington. Previously, he served at Davis-Monthan from 2009 to 2012 as director of operations for the 355th Operations Support Squadron, commander of the 358th Fighter Squadron, and deputy commander of the 355th Operations Group.
