Residents in Oro Valley and Tucson came together in a national "No Kings Day of Defiance" protest, to counter the military parade in Washington D.C. to mark the Army's 250thΒ anniversary, which coincides with President Trump's birthday. The event is organized by theΒ 50501 Movement.Β The name 50501 stands for 50 states, 50 protests, one movement.Β
βNo Kingsβ follows several days of protests in Tucson and nationwideΒ against federal immigration raids.

Protests are planned in nearly 2,000 locations across the country, from city blocks and small towns to courthouse steps and community parks, organizers said, but no events are scheduled in Washington, D.C., where the military parade will take place in the evening.
Huge, boisterous crowds marched in New York, Atlanta, Denver, Chicago, Houston and Los Angeles, some behind βno kingsβ banners in boisterous, and mostly calm demonstrations.
