Congratulations, you made it!
Updated
Congratulations University of Arizona students, you likely just completed your first week on campus. But you may have been slightly overwhelmed by the information you've received.
Here, we've simplified tips for you to keep in mind outside of the classroom. From eating to traveling, here are some things you should know, if you didn't already.
A.E. AraizaLate night? You can still grab a bite
Updated
So you've had a late night studying (or cramming) for a test or maybe you forgot to do your homework. If you find yourself hungry in the wee hours of the morning, you can still grab a bite to eat. Even until 4 a.m.
You can visit places like Insomnia Cookies (9 a.m.-4 p.m.) as well as these 10 places we've gathered for you. Our list strays away from the ordinary fast-food and chain restaurants.
Mike Christy / Arizona Daily StarYour CatCard is a useful tool
Updated
Your CatCard is more versatile than you know. You can use the card to pay for stuff on-and-off-campus and it's fairly easy to do so.
First step, log in with your NetID here. Next, use a debit or credit card to add the funds. The maximum single deposit is $1,000 and the money never expires.
With the card you can accomplish just about all your tasks, from food to laundry to printing your homework.
Also check out the list of more than 50 locations where your CatCard is welcomed, according to UA.
Rob Demers / UANewsThere are some oddities about traveling in Tucson
Updated
When traveling in Arizona its best to be aware of how roads change on you.
Read what Arizona Daily Star's reporter Joe Ferguson has to say about the Tucson streets.
While it might seem like half of the city streets are falling apart, and the other half are under construction, Downtown Tucson is enjoying a renaissance, and there are plenty of places to shop, eat, drink and enjoy live music.
Remember, some intersections lead with left turns, some are at the end of a green light. And along a portion of Speedway, the city is experimenting with new arrows that are more of a lagging left turn arrow but are tied to pedestrian crosswalks.
Tucson also is experimenting with “Michigan Left” turns. These indirect left-hand turns require drivers on Grant Road to go through the intersection to the next stoplight — one block down — where they can make a U-turn, then go back to the intersection you wanted to turn at in the first place to make a right turn.
No car? No problem. The Tucson Streetcar — called Sun Link — is one of the best ways to travel between campus and downtown.
Check out more information from Ferguson to further your knowledge during your time in Tucson.
Arizona Daily StarA public service announcement about driving
Updated
Be prepared for at least a one-stay in jail for making the decision to drink and drive, according to Arizona Department of Public Safety. Expect a fine, a suspended license and an interlock ignition device that starts your car only by you breathing into the device. The bottom line, it's better to call an Uber or someone to take you to your home. Just don't drive.
Arizona Daily StarGoTucson Transit app to ease your commutes
Updated
Sun Tran, which operates their buses and streetcars, provides options to get around the city while providing student discounts.
Now you can purchase a three-day pass for unlimited travel on both the Sun Tran bus and Sun Link street car for $11. Additionally, the company will offer a one-day pass and 30-day pass to travel around the city.
The company says you can use their GoTucson Transit app to "plan, track and pay" for your trip.
Need a semester's worth of travel? Students can receive a 50 percent discount for the pass which normally costs $192. You can purchase the pass until Oct.31.
You can find the app on the Apple Store or the Google Play store on your cell phone.

Is that really your ID? If not, it's best you get rid or it or do something with it that won't get you a misdemeanor. Although Mclovin from Superbad tried it, that doesn't mean you should.
You may get lucky and be given a warning for using the fake ID at a business but most likely you'll leave with a ticket and fine for the stunt.
It's not worth it.
Don't think you can beat that Tucson heat
Updated
The sun'll come out tomorrow, you can bet your bottom dollar on that. In Tucson, the heat is no laughing matter. Make sure you stay hydrated, put on sunscreen and don't try to play sports or go hiking outside at high noon.
Temperatures can reach over 100 degrees most summer days. This year it even prompted several "excessive heat warnings" as temperatures reached 105 degrees consecutive days.
Check out more information about the dangerous Arizona heat.
