A house fire on Tucson's south side and shootings that immediately followed July 18 have left four people dead, including the gunman, and several others injured.
Three people among the victims in last Sunday's attack - Jennifer Fells, Cory Saunders and Jacob Dindinger - shared one trait: a deep caring for others.
Investigators are uncovering events they say indicates Leslie Scarlett was struggling with his mental and emotional health, but faults in communication between police and social services likely delayed action.
