A Pima County Sheriff's deputy was involved in a shooting Saturday night southwest of Tucson, officials say.
Deputies were involved in an altercation that led to an officer involved shooting after responding to a 911 call at the 3900 block of South Rocky Peak Court, near West Ajo Way and South Kinney Road, the sheriff's department said.Β
The individual shot was declared dead, the sheriff's department said. One deputy was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.
The investigation has been turned over to the Pima Regional Critical Incident Team.Β
