Islamic Center of Tucson

Residents of the Sol Y Luna apartments threw glass bottles and alcohol on the Islamic Center of Tucson on Saturday night.

The Islamic Center of Tucson confirmed Wednesday that those responsible for tossing bottles onto their property were caught and are being evicted, according to organization's Facebook page.

The tenants of Sol y Luna were located by Tucson police after the latest incident involving bottles being thrown onto the Islamic Center property, the organization said.

"Additionally, the balcony of the offending unit has been sealed," the Facebook post said.

In September, the apartment complex owners said they had enough evidence to evict additional residents stemming from separate incidents involving glass bottles and alcohol being thrown onto children below, according to Daily Star archives.

The number of Sol y Luna residents or units involved has not been released, but the Center's property cameras caught the objects originated from the complex.

These incidents also follow the eviction of three University of Arizona students for shouting slurs and dumping trash toward the mosque in 2016, according to Daily Star archives.
